August Pyölniittu museum

Take a trip to the Paimio countryside and find a local
the inventor’s unique home and its interesting
contents!

August Pyölniittu (1887–1979) was a small farmer and self-taught
a scientist and a hard-working writer who already gained status during his lifetime
“As a wise shepherd”. Pölniitu and his sisters Ida and Olga
the house in Paimio’s Maljamäki was turned into a museum in the 1980s and is
open in summer. The museum is a window into the everyday life of the sisters and August
Pyölniitu’s unique life’s work as a naturalist,
in the role of inventor and essayist.

Open 7. – 28.7. Sun 12:00–3:00 p.m.
Pölniittäivä Sun 14.7. from 12:00 to 15:00. Guest writer, director Juha
Gore.
On the actual Finnish museum day, Sun 25.8. from 12:00 to 16:00.
Free entry.
