River valley of Paimio river

The Paimio river flows through Paimio, which connects residents through food, business or, in the past, transport routes. The river originates from Somero in Somerniemi and flows into Paimionlahti after about 110 km.

Especially in summer, this region offers tourists scenery like the “suomifilmi” (an old national romantic  finnish movie from the 50’s) and authentic rural taste experiences. There would be as many postcard pictures as you could photograph, because the River valley of Paimio river is part of a nationally valuable landscape area.

The roads around the Paimio river contain places worth visiting, especially in summer. Along the river you can find e.g. local food shops, museum area, summer theater, swimming area, cafes and of course the magnificent and lush river valley. Perhaps the best way to get to the river bank is from the Jokipuisto in the center of Paimio, and you can also deviate from the Askala power plant.
